Muistatko vielä elokuun? / Do you still remember August?

Muistatko vielä elokuun kultaisen valon ja kukkaloiston, lämpimät illat ja sen katkeransuloisen hetken kesän ja syksyn välissä? 

/ Do you still remember the golden light and all the flowers, warm evenings and that bittersweet moment between summer and autumn? 

Ja hetkessä on kevät / And in a moment, it's spring

Hitaat, pimeät talvipävät ja loputtomat lumiset viikot ovat vihdoin takana ja meillä on kevät. Se on tullut hitaasti ja kierrellen mutta silti tuntuu kuin muutos olisi tapahtunut ihan yhtäkkiä. Vihreys juuri alkamassa ja valo tuntuu ihmeeltä. Luonto on herännyt hitaasti - ja niin minäkin. 

/ Slow, dark winter days and endless snowy weeks are finally behind and we have spring. It came slowly and circulating but still it feels like the change happened suddenly. The green is just about to get started and the light feels like a miracle. The nature has waken up slowly - and so have I. 

Talvi oli raskas ja loputon. Se ei vain tuntunut siltä vaan oli oikeasti pitkä, kylmä ja luminen. Kevät on varmasti ainakin kuukauden myöhässä, yöt ovat yhä kylmiä eikä lämpöä aina riitä päivinkään. 

Pitkiin kuukausiin on mahtunut kuitenkin vaikka mitä ja olen kuvannut koko syksyn ja talven. Kuvia ja tarinoita on niin paljon että se on lamaannuttanut.  Haluan jakaa kaiken täällä, en halua että blogini vain hiipuu pois mutta kuitenkin viikot vierivät enkä ole edes avannut konetta.  Mutta yritän nyt taas, sadannetta kertaa, tulla tänne useammin. Jos ei muuta niin tallettamaan kuvat omaksi muistoksi. 

/ Winter was heavy and endless. It didn't just feel like it but it really was long, cold and snowy. Spring must be at least month late, the nights are still cold and there isn't really enough warmth in the days either. But there has still happened a lot in those long months and I've been taking pictures through autumn and winter. I have so many pictures and stories that it has almost depressed me. I want to share everything here, I don't want my blog just to fade away but still the weeks just flt by and I haven't even opened my laptop. But I'm trying again, for the hundredth time, to come here more often. If nothing else, just to save  the pictures for my own memory. 

Nämä kuvat ovat sekalaisia huhtikuulta ja toukokuun alusta - pieniä ja isoja hetkiä joita olen tallentanut. Palaan kuitenkin syksyyn seuraavaksi. 

/ These pictures are miscellaneous from April and in the start of May - small and big moments I've captured. But I'll get back to autumn next. 

Iloa lumettomista paikoista, retkiä kallioille ja metsään. 

/ Joy of the snowless places, trips to rocks and forests. 

Pääsiäisenä ihana, ihana pieni reissu meren äärelle! Kaksi yötä (meille) uudessa retkeilyautossa, uusia ja vanhoja paikkoja ja se paras seikkailun tunne. Ai että! Siitäkin lisää joskus myöhemmin :) 

/ We had a lovely, lovely little trip to the sea on Easter! Two nights in a new (to us) camper van, new and old places and that best feeling of adventure. Oh yes! More about that some time later :) 

 

Se hetki kun löydät vihdoin, viikkojen etsimisen jälkeen, kevään ensimmäiset sinivuokot. 

/ The moment when you finally, after weeks of searching, find the first blue wood anemones of the spring. 

Elokuu / August

Loman jälkeiset hitaat päivät, ilo auringonkukkapellosta ihan vieressä, pohjoisen valon tilalla yhtäkkiä etelän nopeasti pimenevät illat, hento viileys ilmassa. 

/ 

Slow days after vacation, joy of having a sunflower-field right next to us, suddenly the quickly darkening evenings of south instead of that north light, tender coolness in the air. 

Kävelyitä tunnelmallisessa, vähän jo syksyisessä metsässä. Sateisia, harmaita päiviä. Metsä täynnä mustikoita. Niitä pakkaseen ja piirakkaan ja paistokseen. Ai että. 

/ Walks in the atmospheric, a little bit autumnal forest. Rainy grey days. Forest full of blueberries. Picked them to the freezer and into a pie and a bake. Oh yum. 

Tykkäsin niin tästä Rottien Pyhimyksestä!

I really liked this book!

Elokuun illat olivat kuin tehtyjä pyöräretkille. Tässä pieni tauko ja kuvaushetki - sain hienon pyörälaukun Gustilederiltä.

Those August evenings were made for bike rides. Here we're having a little break and a photography moment - I got this great bike-bag from Gustileder. 

Yhtäkkiä auringonkukkapelto alkoi kukkimaan ja oi, se kukki pitkälle syksyyn!

Suddenly the sunflower field started to bloom and oh, they bloomed long till autumn!

Kuvasin ystävääni Alisaa yhtenä iltana auringonkukkien keskellä, oli niin kivaa! Alisa otti myös minusta pari kuvaa :)

I took pictures of my friend Alisa on one evening on the sunflower field, it was so nice! She also took couple pictures of me :)

Happy in a forest. 

Loman jälkeen. Kotiinpaluun iloa lisäsi myös kauan odotettu paketti notPERFECTLINEN:iltä! Tilasin tämän violetin mekon ja muissa kuvissa näkyvän ruutuhameen sieltä aiemmin kesällä, vähän toiveena että olisin saanut ne lomalle käyttöön mutta ne tulivat perille vasta loman aikana. No, ei haitannut sillä ne ovat niin täydellisiä molemmat ja ovat olleet käytössä PALJON.

After the vacation. The joy of coming back home only got bigger as there was a long-waited package from notPERFECTLINEN! I ordered this violet dress and that checkered skirt you seen in other pictures from there earlier in the summer, hoping I could wear them in our vacation but unfortunately they didn't come early enough. Well, it didn't bother me as they are so perfect and I've been wearing them A LOT.

Minni rakastaa mustikoita. Puolukatkin maistuu. Aika monella lenkillä piti pitää mustikoiden syömistauko. Ne maistuivat myös Mintulle ja toisinaan Pandallekin. Parhaiten tietenkin syötettynä mutta oppivatpa hassut syömään näitä suoraan pensaistakin - mahtavaa!

Minni loves blueberries. And lingonberries are quite good too. We had to have a blueberry-eating-break on quite many walks. Minttu likes them also and sometimes Panda too. Best they are when fed by us but these funny dogs learned to eat them straight out of the bushes too - how great! 

En yleensä pidä elokuista - ne tuntuvat raskailta ja ikäviltä välikuukausilta kesä ja syksyn välissä - mutta tämä elokuu ei ollut niin paha kuin yleensä. Kuun alussa oli vielä vähän lomaa, arki alkoi ja tuntui hyvältä, oli paljon kauniita päiviä ja iltoja, paljon kukkasia ja teehetkiä. Melkein halusin elokuun kestävän pidempään ettei syksy ihan vielä tulisi sillä syksystä halusin nauttia rauhassa.

I don't usually like Augusts - they feel heavy and tedious in-between-months between summer and autumn - but this August wasn't as bad as usually. We still had some vacation in the start of the month, the weekday hustle started and felt good, there were lot's of beautiful days and evenings, lot's of flowers and tea moments. I almost wanted August to last longer so that autumn wouldn't come too soon as autumn is something I want to enjoy in peace.
