Oi huhtikuu / Oh April

Huhtikuu, olet kyllä ihana. Viime viikolla saimme pienen maistiaisen lämmöstä ja ai että miten hyvältä se tuntui. 

/ April, you are just lovely. Last week we got a little taste of warmth and oh how good it felt. 

Ihanat pienet taimet, odottavat innokkaina yöpakkasien loppumisia. Ja minäkin odotan, haluan saada nämä jo ulos kasvamaan. Laitoin pari päivää sitten vielä vähän lisää kasveja ja kukkia kasvamaan, kerrankin kun on aikaa :) 

/ Sweet little seedlings, waiting eagerly to frosty nights to end. And I'm waiting too, I want to get these out and let the grow. I planted some more plants and flowers couple days ago because for once I have time :) 

Löysin tämän jättimäisen seppeleen metsässä yhtenä iltana ja palasin sinne seuraavana aamuna - ja pakotin tytöt kerrankin mukaan :) En tiedä yhtään kuka on tuon tehnyt mutta kiitos, se on kaunis! 

/ I found this huge wreath in the forest one night and went back there the next morning - and forced the girls with me too :) I have no idea who's made it but thank you, it's beautiful! 

Koivuissa jo hiirenkorvat!

/ Little leaves on birches already! 

En voinut vastustaa tätä kun pitkästä aikaa löysin kaupasta, taitaa kyllä olla lempijäätelöni! Niin hyvää. 

/ I couldn't resist this at the store, I think it's my favorite ice-cream! Blueberry&cardamom. So good. 

Voi Minttu. Tuon tällä korilla aina tavaroita ulos/terassille ja Minttu meni sinne viime kesänä aika usein - ja näköjään jatkaa samaa edelleen! Ihana hassu koira. 

/ Oh Minttu. I carry all my of things out with this basket and Minttu went sitting in it last summer quite often - and it seems that she's going to continue it again! Lovely funny dog. 

Pannulla kermassa haudutettua leipäjuustoa, kanelia ja lakkahilloa. Apua miten hyvää. 

/ This is Finnish style cheese "leipäjuusto" (=bread cheese but theres no bread, its just the shape) which you can eat cold - or simmer it in a pan in cream until its melted and serve with cinnamon and cloudberry-jam. Oh lord how good. 

Voi näitä ihania. 

/ Oh these sweeties. 

Tämä maistui kolapullo-karkeilta. En tykännyt. 

/ This tasted like cola-candies. Didn't like. 

Lounasta parvekkeella - oli niin lämmin! Parina päivänä pystyi jopa olemaan ilman villatakkia jos oli hyvässä tuulensuojassa.  Meidän terassilla tuli ihan hiki. 

/ Lunch on our balcony - it was so warm. You could actually be without a cardigan on couple of days if you were sheltered from the wind. It was actually hot on our terrace. 

Lämmintä kesti muutaman päivän mutta viikonlopuksi viileni ja siitä lähtien on ollut taas ikävän kylmää ja harmaata. Tänään jopa satoi räntää ja metsässä oli lumisia kohtia. Voi voi. Mutta - ihan kohta alkaa toukokuu ja se on ihan lempparini ja aion nauttia siitä vaikka olisi kuinka viileää!

/ Those warm days were short and sweet and it cooled down for last weekend and it's been so cold and grey since then. It even sleeted today and there were snowy places in the forest. Oh oh. But - it's May soon and it's my favorite and I'm going to enjoy it, no matter how chilly it is! 

Hei kevät / Hi spring

Viime viikko oli aika raskas. Minä olin pms-hirviö ja lisäksi sää oli huhtikuisen julma. Heräsimme melkein joka aamu valkoiseen maahan joka tosin kyllä suli aina päivän aikana - mutta kuitenkin! Lisäksi satoi vettä, räntää ja rakeita ja tuuli oli kova ja jäätävä. Ei huvittanut oikein mikään mutta ulos pakottauduin kyllä joka päivä, edes yhdelle pitkälle lenkille koirien kanssa. Se teki hyvää kaikella tapaa. 

/ Last week was heavy. I was a pms-monster and the weather was cruel. We woke up to a white ground almost every morning, which did melt through the day - but still! In addition there were rain, sleet and hails and the wind was hard and icy. I didn't really feel like doing anything but I forced myself at least for a one long walk ever day. It did good in every way. 

Omenankukkia maljakossa ja lunta ulkona.

/ Apple blossoms in a vase and snow outside. 

Ihanat pirteät narsissit olivat vain 1 €/kimppu!

/ Lovely cheery daffodils were only 1 €/bunch!

Pääsiäisen järjettömän herkuttelun jälkeen teki mieli vain kaikkea raikasta ja kevyttä. Ostin monta kiloa hedelmiä ja kasviksia - ja vähän lisää siemeniä!

/ After the ridiculous feasting on Easter I just craved for everything fresh and light. I bought many kilos of fruits and veggies - and some more seeds!

Ilman näitä en pärjää - lempitee ja lempikauramaito. Ja tietenkin joku jättimäinen muki :) 

/ I can't survive without these - my favorite tea and favorite oat milk. And of course some giant mug :) 

Taas riisipuuroa, niin täydellistä lohturuokaa viileisiin kevätpäiviin. 

/ Rice porridge again, perfect comfort food for these chilly spring days. 

Viileydestä ja kaikesta lumesta huolimatta kevät tulee ja kovaa. Joka päivä on yhä enemmän uusia kukkia ja auenneita silmuja. Viikko sitten löysin ensimmäiset valkovuokot, oi iloa! Ja nyt niitä onkin yhtäkkiä ihan joka puolella. Skilloja on mereksi asti, krookukset hohtavat pihalla. Tuomissa on jo lehdet. Ihanin aika on nyt!

/ Despite the chillness and all the snow, spring is coming and fast. There's more new flowers and opened buds everyday. I found the first wood anemones a week ago, oh the joy! And suddenly they're everywhere. There's a sea of scillas, crocuses are shining on our yard. Leaves already on the bird cherry. The most wonderful time is now!

Kaukolaukaisimeni hajosi monta viikkoa sitten ja se on asettanut haasteita kuvaamiselle mutta tavallaan tekee ihan hyvää miettiä vähän enemmän miten ja missä pystyn kuvaamaan. Tässä kuvassa parasta on ehkä tuo mahtava kirjakasa, taideteos jo melkein. En vain kiinnostanut alkaa järjestämään sitä kuvaa varten :) 

/ My remote control for my camera broke many weeks ago and it has set some challenges for me but in a way it's good to think bit more where and how can I take pictures. Best thing about this picture is perhaps that mighty pile of books, almost a piece of art. I just wasn't interested to organize it for the picture :)
