Olen juonut paljon valkoista teetä,herkutellut ihanasti kostuneella täytekakulla (synttäreiden jälkeisenä päivänä parasta on kyllä kaapista löytyvät herkkujen jämät! Nam. Hyrrrr. Taidanpa mennä juomaan taas yhden kupillisen teetä. Se auttaa kaikkeen.
The week started with aching feet, badly slept night and a cold freeze. The draught comes inside through our poor windows and we had to put an old mattress in between our balcony door. Even the dogs don't want to be outside. It's really beautiful, although the sun reveals our shockinly dirty windows. But at the same time it fills our home with light and that hasn't happened since summer. So bah to dirty windows and yay for light!
I've been drinking lot's of white tea, treated with lovely cake (the best thing on the day after birthday is that the house is full of remains of all the treats! Yum. And luckily I still have a few pieces left:) ),practised to use my new tripod (!) and cut some fabrics. But still haven't sewn at all, becase the sewing machine isn't quite cooperative. And neither am I. I might borrow my mother-in-laws machine, but I guess I have to use some glue. December starts the day after tomorrow and my calendar is laying around in pieces. And I should go to town tomorrow too - there's still a few pockets without a surprise and I really need a thicker moisturiser to my face. But the thought of cold freeze, stifling shops and a thick layer of clothes doesn't really excite me. And ofcourse it should be even colder tomorrow. Brrrr. I think I'll go and have yet another cup of tea. It helps in every way.
oh I'm sorry ... how cold is it ? as for badly insulated windows, i can relate !! i hope your feet feel better... do you sometimes use a hot water bottle ?
VastaaPoistaI could lend you my sewing machine because i've not used it much lately :) but I guess fabric glue will be fine for an advent calendar since you don't have to wash it !
I'm behind with it just like you !! it was tricky this year because my daughter can't have much candies/chocolate and I like to mix different surprises for these 24 days anyway. (what do you put in yours ?) I could use one I made 4 years ago, but I think it's going to be kraft paper and fabric ribbons instead (tomorrow...rush rush !)
Enjoy your time time x
Well,it's been around -20 °c so quite cold:)
VastaaPoistaAnd no,I don't use them. Rarely I soak them in hot water but it doesn't help..they're just restless and irritating.
I finished my calendar finally today! And used glue..and sewed too,but it was terrible. Luckily I had that glue and hopefully it lasts! Those surprises ARE tricky! I don't either want to fill it up with candies and chocolate. Ofcourse I have a few of them too..but other things I have is gum,two little Moomin-toys,little coloured pencils, soap bubbles, couple off pins and a gingerbread mold so that we can bake them some day. But I got still many empty pockets! One day I'm going to take P. to public swimming pool and on that day I put somekind of "ticket" where is a drawing of swimming etc.
Does L. like to do something with her own hands? You could put,for example, something craft-materials in those pockets..? This is hard! :)
