Uusi vuosi Lapissa / New year in Lapland

Vietimme taianomaisen vuodenvaihteen Lapissa, tässä vihdoin kuvia sieltä. Paljon kuvia :) / We spent the turning of the year in magical Lapland, here's finally pictures from there. Lot's of pictures :)

Kaunispäällä oli hyvin jäistä. / It was very frosty on Kaunispää. 

Käsittämätön, unenomainen näky ja hetki Kiilopään huipulla. Aurinko ei noussut kertaakaan mutta parina kirkkaana päivänä saimme nauttia niin kauniista sävyistä ettei tosikaan. Tässä aurinko oli "laskemassa" ja samalla alhaalta nousi sumua joka värjäytyi aivan punaiseksi ja oranssiksi. Katseltiin tuota näkyä sanattomina. / Unbelievable, dreamlike sight and moment on top of Kiilopää. Sun didn't rise once but on few clear days we got to enjoy such a beautiful tones that you couldn't believe. Here the sun was "setting" and at the same time the fog was rising and it discolored all red and orange. We watched that sight speechless. 

Emme juhlineet uutta vuotta muuten kuin syömällä hyvin ja paljon. Mukaan otetut sädetikutkin poltettiin jo reilusti tämän vuoden puolella :) / We didn't celebrate new year other than eating well and lot. We took some sparklers with us but we did burn them on the first days of this year. 

Meillä oli jouluna kolme viikkoa yhteistä lomaa ja päätimme että jonnekin mennään. Vuokramökille tai vuokra-asuntoautolla mutta jonnekin, edes hetkeksi. Olimme jo varanneet yhden auton tuttavan kautta kun mies löysi superhyvän tarjouksen Kiilopäältä - oma mökki puolihoidolla eli aamupala ja illallinen viereisen hotellin buffetista. Mietittiin noin kolme sekuntia ennen kuin varattiin se. Tässä pieni kelomökkimme. / We had a three week vacation on christmas and we decided to go somewhere. Either rent a cabin or a campervan but just go somewhere, even for a while. We already reserved one car from a acquaintance when E. found a super-great offer from Kiilopää - own cabin with half board (breakfast & dinner from their hotel buffet). We thought about three seconds before reserving it. Here's our little log-cabin. 

Niina, muista AINA ottaa termari mukaan jokaiselle reissulle! Nyt en muistanut mutta kysyin hotellin respasta olisiko heillä mitenkään ollut lainata ta vaikka vuokrata (heh) termaria parille retkelle. No ei tarvinnut vuokrata, sain ihan ilmaiseksi lainaan loppuloman ajaksi. Parasta! Ja kyllä kuulkaa maistui kuuma tee niin hyvältä tuollakin hetkellä, keskellä ties mitä pöpelikköä, kun kaikki oli sinistä ja violettia.  / Niina, remember ALWAYS to take a thermos with you on every trip! This time I didn't but I asked from the hotel's reception if I could possibly loan or even rent (heh) one for few little trips. Well I didn't have to rent, I got a thermos for free for the rest of our vacation. The best! And let me tell you, that hot tea sure tasted delicious, on this moment too, in the middle of who knows where, when everything was blue and violet. 

Yhtenä päivänä mies ja Peppi vuokrasivat sukset ja lähtivät hiihtämään. Me käytiin Ellin kanssa ensin vähän pulkkailemassa ja sitten päätettiin vuokrata lumikengät ja lähdettiin niillä seikkailemaan tunturiin. Se oli ihan super-hauskaa! / On one day E. & Peppi rented skis and went skiing. We went sliding with Elli and then we decided to rent snowshoes and went for a fjell adventure. It was super-fun!

Kun säätiedotus näytti kirkasta päivää, kiivettiin Kiilopäälle (kiivettiin sinne kyllä kauheassa sumussa ja lumipyryssäkin miehen kanssa, ei sen puoleen) koko porukalla. Matka ei ole pitkä (n. 2 km muistaakseni) mutta kyllä se reilu 540 metrin korkeus tuntuu ja niin vaan oli hirveä hiki vajaan 20 asteen pakkasessa. Ylhäällä ihasteltiin maisemia (älyttömät!) ja otettiin muutamia kuvia mutta kauaa ei voinut olla kun koirat alkoivat palella ja aika pian itsellekin tuli vilu. Tässä Minttu lämmittelemässä Elli kaulahuivin sisällä, pulkan kyydissä. / When the weather forecast promised a clear day, we climbed to Kiilopää (though we climbed there in a crazy fog & snowfall with E. earlier). It's not a long way (about 2 km if I remember right) but that bit over 540 meter rise does feel somewhere and we were so sweaty, even though it was almost -20°C. We admired the views up there (crazy!) and took few pictures but we couldn't stay long as the dogs were getting cold and so was us. Here's Minttu warming up inside of Elli's scarf, sitting on their sled. 

Lumikenkäiltiin Ellin kanssa melkein kolme tuntia, mentiin muiden jäljissä ja ihan omia reittejä pitkin poikin Kiilopään rinteillä. Elli päätti että haluaa kiivetä ihan ylös asti ja kyselin monta kertaa että varmastiko, sillä kävellen se oli aiemmin vähän tuskaa ("koska ollaan perillä"). Mutta niin vain tyttö pisteli menemään huipulle asti ja oli niin ylpeä itsestään ja aivan innoissaan. Otin kuvia punaisena hohtavasta sumusta ja Ellikin halusi kuvata, tässä siis Ellin ottama kuva minusta. / We snowshoed almost three hours with Elli, went on other's tracks and our own paths too, all around the hillside of Kiilopää. Elli decided that she wants to climb all the way to the top and I asked many times if she's sure, as it was quite painful (as "are we there yet"-painful :)). But so did the girl kept on going, to the top and was so proud of herself and so excited. I took pictures of the red fog and Elli wanted to take pictures as well so here's me by Elli. 

Sähköfatbike-retki läheiselle laavulle paistamaan makkaraa, juomaan teetä ja katsomaan kuukkeleita joita siellä kuulemma näkee AINA mutta nytpä ei tietenkään näkynyt. Petturi-kuukkelit. Mutta mielettömän kivaa oli silti! Reitti oli helpohko (Peppikin pärjäsi tosi hyvin, tosin se on hullu ja mä pelkuri) ja kaaduin noin 276 kertaa mutta onneksi lumi oli pehmeää :) / E-fatbike-trip to near lean-to, to grill some sausages, drink tea and to see Siperian Jays as you see them there ALWAYS but of course we didn't see any. Traitor-Siperian Jays. But it was still amazing and fun! The route was easy-ish (Even Peppi managed to bike there well, though she is crazy and I'm a wuss) and fell about 276 times but luckily snow was soft :)

Lapin kummaa taikaa. Laavulla tutustuimme läheisen Muotka-hotellin johtajaan ja niinpä päädyimme sinne reissumme viimeiseksi yöksi! Mikä hassu maailma. Oli mahtavaa! / The weird magic of Lapland. On the lean-to we got to know the manager of a near hotel Muotka and so we ended up staying our last night of our trip there! What a funny world. It was amazing!

Elli matkalla Kiilopään huipulle. Pidettiin monta pientä taukoa. Välillä oli tosiaan vähän tuskaista mutta tauot ja juttelu auttoivat. Ja se että alas pääsi pulkalla! / Elli on her way to Kiilopää. We had many little breaks. So yes, it was quite painful at times but breaks and talking helped. And the fact that you could slide down!

Täällä vietimme viimeisen yömme, hotelli Muotkan Aurora-mökissä. Täydellisen ihana päätös mielettömälle Lappi-lomallemme. Muotka oli mahtava paikka, kirjaimellisesti keskellä ei mitään. Hotelli ja mökit ja koko palvelu oli niin hienoa, ai että. Kiitos. / We stayed our last night here, in hotel Muotka's Aurora-cabin. Perfectly lovely ending for our amazing Lapland holiday. Muotka was a great place, literally in the middle of nowhere. The hotel and the cabins and whole service was just wonderful, oh my. Thank you. 

Ei nähty revontulia vaikka taivas oli kirkas - mutta saatiin makoisat unet ja älyttömän herkullinen aamupala. / We didn't see any northern lights even though the sky was clear - but we got sweet sleeps and amazingly delicious breakfast.

Ja näihin kuviin on hyvä lopettaa Lapin matka - upeaan kuuhun ja tuohon vaaleanpunaiseen sävyyn mikä pysyi taivaalla pitkään, muuttuen tummemmaksi ja yhä kauniimmaksi - ja söpöön pieneen kelo-vessaan :) Lappi vei taas ison palan sydämestä ja sai haaveet kasvamaan, näytti millainen on oikea talvi ja mitä on kaamoksen kauneus. Voi että. / And it's good to end the Lapland journey in these pictures - gorgeous moon and that pink tone that stayed in the sky for long, changing darker and more beautiful - and on that cute little log-toilet :) Lapland took a big piece of my heart again and made our dreams grow, showed us what's real winter and the beauty of polar night. Oh my.
